Whether you want to move more, lower your cholesterol, or eat healthier, the comprehensive and customized 8 Weeks to Wellness (8WW) program at Family Chiropractic and Wellness is designed to shift the focus from sickness care to wellness care.
You Don’t Have to Settle for Sickness
Every year people are sicker. In particular, we have more obesity and diabetes in our country each year. Dr. Jake often asks his patients, “Are you taking more medication this year than you were last year?” Many people say yes. He looks at them and says, “Tell me, are you healthier or sicker?”
You don’t have to put up with sub-optimal health and resign yourself to taking more medications. We want to help with 8WW.

What to Expect
The first step of the process is to determine what your WELLNESS SCORE is, which is part of our exam. “We have all these outcomes that go into it. It’s a computer algorithm that then produces a report card of someone’s health,” said Dr. Jake. You will be given a letter grade of A through F like what’s given on a school report card.
When we do a WELLNESS SCORE on you, we look at various biomarkers of health, including body composition, forward head posture, core strength and flexibility, HBA1C, which measures how much “glycation” is happening in your body, and triglyceride/HDL radio.
We then take your goals of what you want to accomplish, in conjunction with your provider’s goals and what we want to achieve. “If that aligns with lifestyle modification and trying to improve your body as a whole, then by default we will talk to you about 8 Weeks to Wellness,” he said.
What Does the Program Include?
The robust 8WW program includes the following:
- A chiropractic adjustment twice a week through the 8 weeks
- A 30-minute nutritional consult through the 8 weeks
- Work-outs twice a week with our functional trainer for 8 weeks, in addition to working out outside the clinic
- A massage once a week or every other week
- A manual with weekly goals/check-ins, a journal, and recipes that can be tailored to your dietary needs
We also take measurements halfway through the program and at the end of the 8 weeks.
Your Accountability Partner
Whether you’re trying to lose weight, exercise more, or eat better, it’s challenging to go it alone. With the 8WW program, you don’t have to.
“When someone comes into the clinic, that’s their checkpoint to make sure we’re loving them and caring for them through all of our different departments,” said Dr. Jake.
As someone who has played a lot of football, Dr. Jake views himself as the head coach of the 8WW program. The quarterback, the one who runs the operations throughout the week, is Jamie, one of our chiropractic assistants. She serves as the nutritional coach.
